Easy run on the three town loop. Feeling tired and have a nagging headache.

Amethyst Loop

Time: 62:50
Distance: 9 mi.
Map

The base of the steep trail, complete with dead car

Easy run on the best loop through Amethyst Brook. Distance is approximate, based on guessing pace on technical trails and location of the trails on a map. Pretty happy with this run, though I've been anxious during a number of my runs recently... just need to relax.

Started with Jilane in Amherst Woods before she headed out on the east section of the bike path. I did a short version of the Rosen Loop coming back that same way.

Week In Review

Time: 145:00
Distance: 20.5 mi.

Getting back on the horse during Brown's senior week was not a likely scenario.

Boulevard, Hard Mile, Freeman

Time: 35:00
Distance: 5 mi.

It started as an easy run from the OMAC. Then, for some genius reason, we decided to add in some challenges. After running down the Boulevard and starting back up towards the track, Coste decided he wanted to see if he could run a fast mile. Jordan and I got in for the pacing job and next thing we were running around the track in blazing sub-75 pace. We ended up running 4:47.

Then, as we headed back, Craig decided he wanted to see what he could run a Freeman in, shooting for 68. We charged up it and sneaked in just under... 67.7 or so.

Good times. Maybe we should institute a REAL mile at Brown commencement every year.

Track and Back

Time: 45:00?
Distance: 6 mi.

Ran down to the track to see Sarro and Ozzie's workout, around the infield for a bit, and then back. They are running regionals in 10 days. Tired, but not as tired as I'm going to be.

5th Annual BBBMC

Time: 15:00
Distance: 2 mi.

Finished 3rd in 8:26, a few seconds off my PR.

Bike Path, South Amherst Trails

Time: 50:00
Distance: 7.5 mi.

Easy run from our house in Amherst to on the Bike Path (which some guy told me is closed for the next few weeks? yeah, right). I went to the Amherst College trails, and then down to the trails off Shays and near Pomeroy and Potwine. Pretty beat when I got back, but I wasn't running too slow.

Week of May 12 – May 18

Distance: ~35 mi.

My last week in Austin was another easy one running-wise. I finished school by turning in a paper early last Friday, but had to pull together my life and try to enjoy the city for one last week. Taylor got in late Wednesday night and we got in a couple fun easy runs on IF. Sunday morning, I hit the road… Goodbye Texas.

Week of May 5 - May 11

Distance: ~35 mi.

I started to try to get back into running, but was dealing with a significant amount of schoolwork and a general lack of motivation to get going again. I’m pretty much fine with that, as this is the first serious break I think I’ve taken in about 18 months. I finished up the week with a good run with Tom, Barry and Brian on the Greenbelt.

Week of April 28 - May 4

Distance: ~4.5 mi.

After the half marathon, I took this week almost completely off. The exception was a run with LBJ School dean and professor Jim Steinberg on Friday morning. He’s an active runner, having done most of the major marathons on the east coast.
