Owen, I've been following your blog for some time now and noticed your sesamoid issue. I've dealt with this injury in the past and have run through it with serious icing and by making a makeshift forefoot pad out of a mousepad. I would first trim the mousepad into a insole shape and then I would cut out a "U" shape the area where pressure hurt the seasmoid. This worked wonders. Best of luck.
Thanks for the message. I have actually dealt with this on and off for a while myself since my senior year in high school. I have corrective orthotics which work most of the time that do something very similar to what you described with your forefoot pad. I think the Nike Lunatrainers that I started wearing might be a little bit too flexible for me to train in daily which might be why it popped back up now.
I hope things are well with you. Glad to see you started your own online log!
